DC Nation Fans. TODAY IS IMPORTANT.

For those who missed the initial hype, a new variation of crowd-funding campaigns opened their site for the first time a couple of weeks ago. SMGO.tv (my Show Must Go On) aims to find a method to renew cancelled shows. The Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice fans jumped on the possibility of this option, and crashed their site… Twice. We have numbers. We have enthusiasm. We want the opportunity. GLTAS and YJ are currently not listed on SMGO.tv because the site runners believe we have evidenced the numbers needed to go from voting to funding. The next step in SMGO.tv’s process is to meet with the property owners and try to work out a contract to permit the crowd-funding effort, of expectations of exactly what would be getting funded and how much funding would be necessary. The last we heard before SMGO.tv was officially requested to go to media-silence on the details was that they had a meeting with Warner Brothers officials scheduled on April 11th (Thursday). We do not know if that meeting is still on, if it’s been rescheduled, what time of day the meeting is, or with what level of decision-makers SMGO.tv will actually be meeting. SMGO.tv is an exciting possibility, but it is not a sure thing, even if WB agrees to let them move forward, we will still have to meet the funding goals.

Given that the meeting may well be first thing Thursday morning, what we as fans can do in support is make sure that Warner Brothers and it’s affiliates know there is a vocal fanbase with money that they are not tapping to it’s fullest. The messaging campaign needs to put in an extra push effort today. Make SMGO.tv, Green Lantern: The Animated Series, and Young Justice an urgent issue for WB. Your primary focus should be WB, but DC Comics and Cartoon Network also hold an important stake in the matter. (Retailer contacts should be second priority just for today only because of the chain of communication delay for a 24-hour push.)

Have you messaged WB today?

Okay DC Nation Fans. Tomorrow is important.

GreenLantern-TAS is putting our regular queue on hold tomorrow to keep only campaign-centric posts on the front page.

Please note that Giancarlo Volpe also re-tweeted this from Mr. Vietti.

Any fundraising campaign MUST be sanctioned by WB, or you are risking major legal trouble.

It’s not our property to kickstart, or fundraise for. Plain and simple. We can ask WB,CN, or moreover Time Warner (Which owns both CN & WB) but this is not a matter to be handled by someone outside the company’s approval.

Kevin, I cannot express how I relieved I am to have one of the producers speak up on this.

My LCS has copies of the original Young Justice comic, and I got a couple today! I wouldn't have known that there was another Young Justice comic without your blog, so thanks for posting all about it!

OH MY GOODNESS!

I love original YJ so much! Not to say I dislike the animated version, far from it, but they’re entirely different stories and universes. The original Young Justice and Impulse comics are what pulled me into mainstream superhero comics, so they hold a special place in my heart. The original YJ writer, Peter David, has written a few YJ!animated episodes, including “Bloodlines” which introduced the original YJ speedster into the animated show.

Worth noting, the original print runs can be a little hard to come by and there’s almost nothing by way of collected editions, BUT DC has been re-releasing them digitally.

Made my donation to the Heroes For Heroes campaign.

Maybe LANOS is what Aya needs to come back

Crew: So you DO have feelings!!!

Original YJ, full of much wisdom.

My recently-received collection of Young Justice bound books. Love ‘em!

Where. Did. You. Get. These?!

And where can I find them!??!

I made them. Got all the single issues and tie-ins etc, the Sins of Youth trade, and sent them to a bindery. Many binderies that bind comics let you custom-design covers, as I did here. It’s a lot of fun and super-addictive, and you end up with not only a cooler looking collection but also a much easier to read collection.

This is pretty smart. (On the assumption you don’t intend to try to ever resell the issues as collector pieces.) It’s a bit tempting to look into doing the same to mine.

Guys, remember, DC Nation doesn’t air on the West Coast for another 2 hours and 15 minutes.

This dork made it out today…
