At what point did giving a 14-year-old the power to destroy the Earth seem like a GOOD PLAN?

Yep. And that’s not cool.
We know morally grey characters tend to threaten people, but 1) the characters are usually anti-heroes, which Korra is not (at least the narrative doesn’t present her as one) and 2) the people being threatened are rarely innocent.
Korra was lucky the narrative demanded that the judge was one of the bad guys, but what if he wasn’t?
