OK you know what, this is starting to really get under my goddamn skin now.  I am tired of going into the Sailor Moon tag and seeing people swearing up and down that R/J shippers disgusting and that we’re somehow romanticizing kidnapping and all this other bullshit, so it’s time to explain some shit:

#1:  Not a single R/J shipper in this fandom actually believes Jadeite’s kidnapping and drugging Rei is at all romantic.

Well.

You know what, no, someone out there probably does just because I said they don’t, but I have been in this fandom shipping this pair for twenty goddamn years and I can tell you I’ve never met them. Not once.  And I’ve met a good fuckton of R/J shippers.  That right there tells me that most of don’t and maybe you should do some research.

#2.a:  What we like about the scene has to do with the manga scene it is based on.  Here is some spoiler knowledge for you:  You remember how in the later seasons of the anime Mamoru is brainwashed by Beryl/Metallia into being a gigantic dick?  Guess what’s going on with the Shitennou right at this second.  Yeah.  Mhm.  You don’t find that out until later, so I can give you some leeway, but not that much because the fucking manga has been out for twenty years, guys, and y’know, maybe you shouldn’t be shitting on ships you don’t understand dick about all in the tag everybody has to play in, hm.

#2.b: People keep bringing up “the picture” that was “just a picture why do you guys swear it’s canon?!?!” all the time.  Fun fact:  hardly anyone on the S/S side of things swears it’s canon.  Seriously.  We label our shit as AU for a fucking reason.  Just because Takeuchi has said multiple times that the S/S ship were an idea she really, really wanted to put into the work but didn’t have time for doesn’t actually make it canon.  Most of us comprehend that, lets please not be putting more words in other people’s mouths m’kay.

#2.c:  However, THAT IDEA IS EXACTLY WHY THAT SCENE EXISTS.  The entire scene IS A REFERENCE to the idea Takeuchi meant to put in but never fully realized.  There are actually two more in this arch, one involving Nephrite and Jupiter, and a second Mars/Jadeite one in the Manga short-story “Casablanca Memories.”  THAT IS WHY R/J SHIPPERS ARE EXCITED TO SEE IT.  NOT BECAUSE KIDNAPPING, BUT BECAUSE OF JADEITE’S MEMORIES LEAKING THROUGH THE BRAINWASHING.

#3:  For fucks sake, could you all please stop tagging your hate?  If you don’t like our ships then FINE.  Whatever.  There’s plenty of SM ships I can’t stand, but funny how you don’t see me sitting here making posts about how people who ship them are inherently flawed and problematic, etc. etc. and tagging them into everybody’s sandbox—ESPECIALLY when I haven’t bothered to see what these supposed shippers actually write the ship about. Wanna complain about it?  COMPLAIN ABOUT IT. But have the common courtesy not to pick up the metaphorical megaphone when doing it.

#4:  Not that anybody is asking, but if you actually bothered to do your R/J homework before complaining, you might realize that Jadeite learning better and making amends for the shit he’s done is a HUGE part of this ship.  In fact, it’s pretty much the life blood.  No one excuses EITHER of their flaws around these waters, and it’s part of what makes the s/s ships pretty damn fun.

Y’know, other than the fact that most of us have been around the fandom 20 odd years and kinda done with this whole ship war nonsense.

TL;DR:  Can we please learn to not be dicks in the main tag?  Pls thnx.

We’ve had so many versions of Sailor Moon now where the senshi/shitennou pairs have not happened and this latest reboot makes it look like there’s a slight chance some of them might. That’s exciting for people that do ship that. We can live and let live without crapping on other fans squee, right?

I’m having one of those alternating between evil-laugh and oh-god-oh-god-what-have-I-done moments.
Am I allowed to blame Wundy and Pinkie-Pi for putting forth the idea?

…huh

Oh my god WHAT
WHAT
DEM PIGTAILS. ALSO IS THAT BULMA IN THE BACK AS TUXEDO MASK OR AM I GOING CRAZY

Ummm… It wasn’t my idea? Yup. Going with that. I’m innocent. …A little.
That… Might be Bulma… Or the heroic Capsule Mask… Or something…

Let me dredge this back up sailorscooby

Minako pressed her hand against the mirror’s surface, willing herself to remember the tiny details of her own face. The thin white scars and the wrinkles under the eyes. As a teenager she never dreamed that even in a million years she’d be grateful for wrinkles, but she was. No one knew this face anymore. No one ever saw this face anymore, save herself. The wrinkles were still slight, especially for her centuries of age, but Usagi had never had them. They were hers. They reminded her that under the disguise, Minako still existed. Ever so quietly, Minako lived on.
It was the hardest mission her Queen had ever called her to, and there was no end in sight. What she wouldn’t give for Rei’s shoulder to cry on some days. Even if it would be followed by a harsh scolding, Rei would have let her cry first.
"Mama?" The familiar voice of her princess, the heir to to the new Silver Millenium, echoed through the Queen’s private chambers. Beneath it, Minako heard the rhythmic tap of Mamoru’s shoes on the tile.
She squeezed her eyes shut, not wanting to watch the transformation again as she held the Crescent Compact and it’s long-unchanged image against her chest while she whispered, “Crescent Moon Power, Transform into Neo Queen Serenity.”
Pink hair bobbed around the corner as Minako straightened shoulders that both were and were not hers, and lifted a chin that should have sat on a different woman. It was a somber smile that greeted Small Lady, “Good Morning Chibiusa. How are your studies going?”
The girl, nearly 200 years old and still a child in every sense of the word, turned her head guiltily, looking every inch like Usagi had when she wanted to hide poor test scores in English or Math.
"Good Morning Serenity," Mamoru smiled gently, walking over to place a chaste kiss on her forehead, against the crescent moon symbol that was only an illusion.
"Good Morning Endymion," She knew her humor sounded forced, she was having a rough morning of it today. "I see you’re encouraging her delinquency again. Mercury will be furious."
He only smiled in response, taking up both her hands and patting them gently between his. He understood some days were more difficult than others.
Thank the goddess Mamoru knew. She didn’t think she could deal with his not knowing nor could she imagine how she could have hidden in from him for long. That he never called the queen “Odango” or any of the hundred pet names he had shared with the real Usagi anymore went over most peoples’ heads. She did not know how to be a better, or more emotional false mother to Small Lady. She saw too much of her lost friend in the little girl’s every movement.
The Guardian Senshi knew. The King knew. His Shitennou knew. That was the end of it though. The Outer Senshi at least suspected, but never spoke of it.
Sailor Mars had fallen in an intense battle nearly half a century ago. Sailor Venus had been so horribly scarred in that same battle that she never appeared in public save to defend the Queen, and even then she stayed in the shadows. Only the Queen, King, and the other two living Guardian Senshi interacted with her directly these past 50 years. That was the official story at any rate.
In reality, both Moon and Mars had died. Venus was scarred, but not that horribly. Instead, she was acting as the Queen nearly 24-7. Her old role as Serenity’s body double being used to full effect. She was rarely undisguised, even with her fellow Guardians. She could count on one hand the number of times she’d spoken to Makoto and Ami with her own face in the last 20 years. They assured her that they knew, and it was more important she not risk letting the secret slip. Mamoru rarely shared her bed at all, instead doting on Small Lady, for which she was grateful.
Mercury entered the room and immediately began scolding Small Lady for neglecting her studies while Jupiter leaned against the door frame regarding her with a raised eyebrow. She only nodded, smiled, and kept playing the distant Queen Mother that a time traveling Chibiusa would complain to them of nearly 700 years from now.
